Guy is perfectly innocent!! While at first interesting this became quite tedious. One who thinks everyone not in favor with his thoughts are the enemies just like an adorable five year hgihsmithand yet, plans to murder them all the same. I have not read any Patricia Highsmith. The movie was more believable in this respect, and for me it had a more satisfactory ending. All that conflicts he faces when Bruno murders Trwn, do you think he kept quiet because he was afraid of Bruno??
