I can’t imagine it was written in earnest, because it was completely, utterly laughable in every way. However, the trio has other plans, as they don’t want their home to be influenced by the violence and discord human societies have showcased in their history, so they plan to sabotage everything. When he first arrives it is hard to like him because he seems really pretentious, snooty, distant, and kind of robotic.

This book has completely captured me in its awesomeness! The environment within the book was reminiscent of the typical American public high school, but it was nevertheless intriguing because of the backdrop of gossip, paranoia, and violence.

Landers creates a very interesting premise, a story of cultural clashing between humans and aliens, who have only recently met. Reluctantly, Cara agrees to the arrangement feeling that, as a budding journalist, her blog following will soar and she may even be able to procure a book deal out of her experiences. This was the book of the month for the reading group I am in.


I am telling you all this because by all fucking rights, if there was anyone to relate to this character, it would be me. Who wants to get into whose pants? And in the end, it doesn’t matter who they lose in the fallout, just as long as they don’t lose each other. Nothing Cara ever said about debate made me think she was actually in, you know, a debate team.

It’s one of those let’s-prentend-it’s-not-instalove-but-it-is kind of romance. It just makes this book incredibly silly. Sometimes I just get fed up of the serious and the beautiful and I just want a book that is fun and easy to get lost in.

I would have thought she agreed because of the help they extended to curing her mum. Alienated brings us a good mix of humor and romance.

But there was something about him that I didn’t warm to at all.
